"Our purpose on this earth is not to be served, but to serve others."“Our purpose on this earth is not to be served, but to serve others. Our family has been richly blessed and inspired by AWRA’s message and strives to continue “paying it forward” in our community, schools, and work places. Coach Johns reminds us that each of us, regardless of age or circumstances, can carry out a mission of compassion and respect.”
How did you meet Coach Rich Johns?
I met Rich Johns many years ago through the girls’ tennis team, while he was teaching and coaching full time in Saratoga.
How did you hear about Act With Respect Always?
Our family was first introduced to Act with Respect Always during the summer tennis clinics as Coach spread the “radical” message, not about tennis, but character and good choices. I have been amazed by Coach’s selfless dedication to educating young people about what it means to live with integrity and respect others. He has inspired countless students and adults through his encouragement, positive message and generous spirit.
How has the Act With Respect Alway mission effected you personally?
The mission of AWRA reminds me that every small act of respect or kindness can have a huge impact on others. In this vain, I strive to pay it forward by assisting people in our region who may be struggling to meet basic needs such as food or shelter. AWRA has been a tremendous gift to my daughters; giving them confidence and courage during their high school years. I hold Coach Johns and the AWRA program in the highest regard.
