Taylor Krogmann

"I am a member of the National Honor Society and participate in the unified sports program."

My name is Taylor Krogmann, and I am a senior at Saratoga Springs High School. I am a member of the National Honor Society and participate in the unified sports program. I was a team leader in assisting students with disabilities for the Special Olympics bowling team. I am not sure what college I will be attending yet, but I have been accepted and am likely going to Hartwick College to pursue a career in the nursing field.

How did you meet Coach Rich Johns?
I met Coach Johns through school and my mom who is also a teacher. She told me about the AWRA mission and introduced me to Coach. He was very aware of what kids deal with and was proactive in helping them to have their voices heard.

How has the Act With Respect Always mission affected you personally?
For me, like it is for many, middle school, and high school brings many challenges navigating new friend groups. Keeping my families core values of working hard, being respectful, and having empathy was what I saw in the AWRA program.

Please share with us how you have, or will in the future “Pay it Forward”
I plan to continue my work with unified sport and best buddies. I try to do my best to volunteer in the community. I have been volunteering at the Saratoga Senior Center. I help the seniors with their phones and do crafts with them. I always try to be kind to everyone, no matter who it is. You never know what someone could be going through, so a simple smile could really brighten one’s day.

How would you describe the Act With Respect Always mission to others?
The mission teaches us to respect others and of course have self respect for ourselves. The Act With Respect Always mission is a program that truly tries to make you a better version of yourself by having more respect for others and yourself, instead of being judgmental. Coach Johns understands that not every day you are going to be a 99%. There are going to be hard days, but he encourages you to try to be your best self every day.

Would you recommend Rich to speak about Respect to others?
Yes, I would recommend this to others. His program has truly made a huge impact on me. I have learned a lot from him and I believe that others will too. His mission is incredible and very inspiring. Without a doubt I would recommend others to at least listen to one of his speeches.

Thank you for your commitment, Coach Johns.
