"We raised $200 and gave it to the hospital."

After Coach Johns talked to our class about acting with respect, we decided we wanted to do something to help the community. There is a boy in our class whose father has cancer, so we decided to have a bake sale to raise money for the Charles R. Wood Cancer Center at the Glens Falls Hospital. We asked teachers and parents to bring baked goods to school and we sold them during the lunch periods. We raised $200 and gave it to the hospital. They said they are going to put it toward the cost of a new machine that will make cancer treatments faster and easier for the patients. It made us feel good to do something for the community and it wasn’t hard. It was actually pretty fun!
