Victoria Alvord

"Being caring and respectful is my main goal daily."

My name is Victoria Alvord and I am a sophomore at Saratoga Central Catholic. I play volleyball and I am on the Varsity Softball team.

How did you meet Coach Rich Johns?
I met Coach Johns at a tennis camp at Saratoga Springs High School in 2012, and I also met him through my Mom, Carla Alvord, who was a student of his.

How did you hear about Act With Respect Always?
I heard about Act With Respect Always for the first time at a tennis camp at Saratoga Springs High School. It really moved me how his mission is to simply make the world a better place. I have had the opportunity to hear Coach Johns speak several times.  When I attended Saratoga Springs Schools, he spoke at the JV/ Varsity Tennis Banquet to all of the players, coaches and parents.  This past year he spoke at my current school, Saratoga Central Catholic.

How has the Act With Respect Alway mission effected you personally?
Act With Respect Always has affected me personally by really making me understand the meaning of gratitude. Being caring and respectful is my main goal daily.

Please share with us how you have, or will in the future “Pay it Forward”
In the future I will “Pay it Forward” by volunteering as much as possible and being the best kind of person I can be. I will always pay it forward by being kind, caring, and respectful to everyone that crosses my path.

How would you describe the Act With Respect Always mission to others?
I would describe the AWRA mission to others as a way of giving peace to the world. Going out of your way to be kind and helpful to others can make an impact on someone’s life. You might not know what they are going through at the time, and just that one act of kindness can make their day a whole lot better!

Would you recommend Rich to speak about Respect to others?
I would definitely recommend Coach Johns to speak about AWRA to everyone! I believe everyone should listen to his moving and life-changing program. This program has changed me, making me a better person and making me think about my thoughts and actions.
